In reply to Deb. Praise God, Deb! Remain faithful and loving your son. God will honor your faithfulness and prayers. I too was a prodigal child for many years, and God has used each one of my wrong choices to allow me to grow and minister to the hurting today. God will work on your son.There is no telling how God will turn this for his good and God's glory, but I know He will because He promises to do so. I'm saying a prayer for you and him right now. I needed to hear this, right at this moment, and God provided your spiritual wisdom and encouragement. Thank you! We are going through the pain and suffering brought on by a prodigal child, and I need to remind myself, sometimes minute by minute, to let go and let God. Some days it’s so easy to lay my burdens down at the feet of Jesus, and then I sneak back in and pick them up. Getting myself out of the way to allow the Lord to work has been one of my biggest challenges, but I’m so thankful for His continual grace and mercy, and for the promises He’s given us through His word! Again, thank you for your post, and know that it came at the exact minute I began to despair. God is awesome in His timing!

Naturally, because we’re moms, we hate the idea of our children suffering or going through hard times. But, without the struggles and, yes, the pain, neither they nor we can grow into a stronger relationship with the Lord. We do need to remember that they were His first before He ever entrusted them to our care. Your post today lends a whole new meaning to “let go and let God.” Beautiful, Patricia!

I have watched through the years we've been friends, of how God guided you and Price through stressful times with your children. He has honored your prayers, obedience and testimony. That is why you are the proud mother of three godly mom.

Great Devo Patricia. My kids are now 28, 26 and 19 and it is so amazing what God can and will teach us though our kids trials if we will only release them to Him. Some of my own most incredible spiritual growth has come to me over a period while sitting on the sidelines of my children’s lives, praying and cheering them on but doing little else for them. Then seeing the fruit in their lives of what Jesus was teaching them, not Mom or Dad teaching them. Now that is exciting!!!! God is going to do what He wants to do in our kids lives. I wonder how many blessing we parents miss because we refused to sit on the sidelines and watch The Lord at work? Anyone else have similar experiences?
