Hi Melissa! I am so sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. I have been praying for him and your family since I read this comment. I had the same type of cancer, only mine was discovered so early, by the grace of God alone. Please tell him I am praying for him, that God will give him healing, but most of all, that He will be holding him close as he walks through this valley. If only he keeps his eyes on Jesus, God will make something beautiful out of his trial… He does not waste any pain that we go through.

Your referencing your turning to prayer, bible reading and worship through music reminded me of my own turning to increased worship to draw closer to him and draw strength from him. He is truly faithful when we are unfaithful and closest to us when it may seem like he is so distant. Never has this message been so needed for our family. My brother-in-law has just been diagnosed with Kidney cancer. It’s metastasized. We just received this news last week and he has already begun radiation. All of us have been gripped with fear of the unknown for all of his family. He & his wife have 3 school aged children (11, 9, and 7). I plan on sharing this with he and his family. Thank you for this post. This is a great reminder of how much we can TRUST our God – – that He is with us and we lean on Him because He doesn’t leave us alone.

Indeed, the race is not over! Until HE says it is over! Hallelujah!
