I woke up yesterday morning and had this strange feeling that it was all a dream. Did that ever happen to you? It has happened before, like when I found out I had cancer… or when my brother-in-law died.
You wake up and, and during that stage between being fully awake and sleeping, you have the impression that it was only a nightmare.
Then the hard realization that it wasn’t hits you…. you are indeed living the nightmare.
This morning I had the same feeling when I first woke up – only this time I thought I had a wonderful, blessed dream. I laid in bed, enjoying the remembrance of what I thought was only a beautiful dream…
And then it hit me – it was true! The book release party did happen. What a wonderful feeling! I realized that something that feels much like another child, my first book, was indeed born…
The evening was filled with praise, worship and thanksgiving. The songs filled the room with praise to the One who is indeed the Author and Perfector of my faith. My friends the Dedmans, whose voices and harmony reflect the beauty of their hearts, blessed us with my favorite songs of praise to the King.
I briefly took the stage to share a short message from Twelve Inches, and then stepped aside to allow the panel to share their impression on the book. The panel consisted of five wonderful
women (Connie Andrews, Chasity Dedman, Darlene Odom, Dale Ryals and Stephanie Wilkins) and one (brave) man (Mike Rann), and was led by my friend Lisa Ryan. To me, it was the highlight of the evening. I heard how the book impacted them, revealed new insights into God’s truth and helped equip them to live with greater faith.My sweet family, including my parents, who flew from Brazil for the event, my dear friends, my ministry team… People whom I don’t know, but who made a point to tell me how my writing has impacted their faith-walk. How can I thank each one of you enough? You made this an unforgettable evening. You made me cry for joy.
