I have felt God leading me to write down a second weekly post for a while, one that would reflect what God says to me when I retreat to our family Prayer closet… our own War Room, if you will. This morning, as I read and reflected on Psalm 119, God started whispering these words to my heart. I felt compelled to write them down and share them with you. May He speak to you today!
In the War Room with JESUS: “Taste and See: I AM ENOUGH”
I’m keeping you closely dependent upon Me, that you may see My riches more clearly, that I may mold you closely, that you may learn to be utterly satisfied with ME, that you may experience my grace like you never could otherwise.
I’m keeping you closely dependent that you may reach out and taste from HEAVEN’S table. For how would you ever taste and fill your cup with the sweetness of My Presence, had I given you everything your eyes ever wished to see, or all your hands ever wished to touch?
Had you not lacked in the things of this world, you would have never seen My Face, or watched My Hand move, or received unlikely, unexplainable satisfaction in dry places.
Do you want to experience the peace that surpasses all understanding? Then I have to lead you into places where this world cannot offer you peace.
Do you want to experience My Hand of deliverance? Then I must allow your enemies to approach you… and taunt you… and yet, never PREVAIL.
Do you want to see my supernatural provision? Then you must lack in earthly resources… and yearn for deliverance, and yet, never lack one single NEED.
I wouldn’t lead you to a desert, had I not known that I would be there to provide, heal and protect.
I heard you pray:
“Oh, Lord, how I love Your Word! How I delight in Your Statutes! (Psalm 119:33)”
And so I ask you:
How could you ever have KNOWN Me and My statutes to be TRUE and GOOD, were it not for your COMPLETE dependence upon Me?
Therefore I urge you to pray that you will want ME, above all things.
For I am enough.
And I promise enough.
And my heart rejoices… when I see that I am indeed enough for you.
When I see that you “seek first My kingdom and righteousness,” that’s when I delight to “give all these other things to you” Matthew 6:33.
I heard you pray:
“Oh, Lord, how I long for the day when I don’t have to pray for this anymore!”
And so I say to you:
What if I said that this need, this desert, at this point in your life, is what keeps you close to My Living Water? What if I told you that removing this thorn, at this point in your life, would send you running wildly in the opposite direction of My best for you?
Would you still ask Me to remove it?
Remember, My child, I know you like no one else ever will.
Trust Me.
Welcome anything that keeps you closely dependent on Me.
It’s not because I am a stingy God that I keep you from receiving what you are asking for TODAY.
It’s because I love you too much to give you something that would lead you away from ME.
When you are ready, when you are so satisfied with My presence, when you are so in love with Me that nothing will tempt you to give up My place as first in your life, THEN I will open My hand… Then I will pluck the thorn.
In the meantime, watch me as My Sovereign, Loving Hands mold you… And trust My TIMING. I know what I’m doing and I haven’t forgotten you.
Close your eyes to what you want… and open your eyes to see My bountiful grace…
Rejoice in My eternal, unchanging Presence…
Taste the goodness of My Word… which is sweeter than anything you’ll ever taste…
I’m here…
I’m working…
Be still, taste and see…
I am Enough.

Thank you for sharing this amazing and heart-felt post. So, I ask myself: Do I believe that Jesus is enough? On good days (times) I can say yes. 🙂
Blessings!
Oh, Kim! It’s a constant struggle with this flesh of ours, isn’t it? But He is indeed…. we just have to be reminded of it, as we press on through places of unanswered prayers and unfulfilled dreams… Thank you for stopping by!
