Great reminders! The husband and I were just talking last night that budgeting and managing your money starts way before you have your first bank account! As parents, we need to train up a child in the way he should go– including not incurring unnecessary debt even if society sees it as acceptable. Great advice, Patricia! I have been careful all my life not to incur debt or charge any item that I cannot pay for in full when the bill comes. Now as my husband approaches retirement, we are happy with how we’ve grown our finances so we can live comfortably within our means.

So much wisdom here. As a young professional with college debt- yes. This is an issue and it isn’t economically sustainable for our nation. But debt is also an issue of heart. My husband and I strive to be wise with our money- thanks for this encouragement!
