The times our children (no matter what age) go through trials are the moments that God gives us as parents to live out our faith in front of them. Even though my boys are married adults, my tendency is still “to pray… and then worry. Pray some more… and then pick our children right back up from the altar of surrender, in an attempt to solve their problems ourselves.” And this is such a good point: “Can we not look back and realize that we have matured and grown spiritually with our past mistakes?” Thank you for this encouragement today!

Thank you for this article……so powerful and so convicting. My children are young adults now and it’s time for them to figure out if their faith is their own or their parents. I love your statement…..”I want my children to love Jesus because they have experienced Him not because I said so.” This was true in my own journey to faith so I’m trusting it will be same for my own children.
