My wife and I have, in the past, prepared with care, shoe boxes filled with those items we know children would like and need. Items that had a theme and worked together for the child. Having four children, ten grandchildren and now eleven great-grandchildren, we really know what children can use and really like! However we were somewhat surprised, and a little dismayed, when told that these boxes are then unpacked and the items were redistributed to make all boxes appear to be about equal so that every child would have about the same amount of things. That seems to destroy our careful planning for what goes together in a box! Wouldn’t a cash contribution be far more effective and easier for the donor?

That’s awesome, Martha! It’s a beautiful organization. Not only do they provide for people material’s needs, but they also introduce these communities to the only “Food” that truly satisfies… Living Water and the Bread of Life!
