What imagery! I know prisons are bad and no one would want to be there especially if there wrongfully. But many who were there for a good cause like Paul, like MLK Jr., like Nelson Mandela were focused on the cause and endured prison because of what they knew was right.
It’s much easier to turn a test into a testimony without the walls of prison. May we aspire to be like Paul – bold in our testimony regardless of the circumstances.

We do have a tendency to forget that NT believers were all functioning under very oppressive conditions, and Paul’s words come to us from a deep knowledge of suffering and inconvenience. Thanks for this encouragement to keep this context in mind as we read and apply his words.
