In the middle of all of this, we had an incident with our “grand” cat…she was sick and insisted on lying in her litter box. I kept thinking of how she would feel better if she would just stand up and move away from the stench but she kept returning to it. I saw a lot truth about myself in that…sometimes I lose the will the return to the truth and instead wallow in the stench of the lies I dream up with so much willing input and suggestion from the enemy.

Thanks for the encouragement, Michele. Through our recent difficulties, I’ve found David an example for walking in faith when there is little to cling to. You are right! It’s in the word of God that we find the truth and are encouraged that he loves us in the storm.

Every time I read through David’s story, I’m amazed that he hardly had a minute of what I would call actual peace once he started following God’s calling upon his life. That’s really not what we have been taught to expect, is it? Staying close to Scripture helps us to form realistic expectations based on truth.
