December 20, marks eight years since my dad left this world for heaven. Christmastime is still sad in some ways. He will never know my grandchildren, his great grands. Never again will we travel to his home on Christmas night. But I have loads of precious memories I cling to.

And I’m thankful not only for Immanuel, God with us…me, but also that my dad, an atheist for years, came to know Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. You see, I prayed daily for my dad for 16 years. When my faith waned, I inserted his name in Scripture about salvation.

So, I celebrate that my dad spends Christmas in the literal presence of Immanuel. Hallelujah!
